Meeting Date: April 8th, 2021

Attendees: Annette, Misty, President Payne, Vice President Suzanne, Shelly,
Shelby, Jordy, and Maggie



Treasurer Report:

Current Balance: $869.95

Dues: 3 Paid

Discussion:

Shelly and Annette spoke on ongoing complications with setting up a new
bank account.

President Payne advised against setting up a PayPal account and not using
any personal accounts as a temporary solution. He also reminded the chapter
on using the affiliate as a temporary source on collecting dues.

Everyone agrees to send checks or money orders directly to shelly. The
money will continue to be deposited into the old account until the new
account is setup.

Questions regarding our 5013C status has been clarifies by Shelby that we
do not have it any more.

New business: Parental Rights Bill

Annette encouraging members to write letters to their local legislator.
Reminding members, we have a sample letter if needed.

Jordy elaborates on the access technology bill in the house of
representative.

President Payne confirms there is no scheduled Columbus seminar at this
time.



Old business: Transportation with COTA

Annette wants to know if we want to continue to pursue working with COTA.

Jordy wanted to know what the company was doing to help with the pandemic
relief.

Shelly shared the rides were free between April 2020 to February 2021.

Annette and Shelly believe the overall program is much better than what it
was.

Ongoing conversations about individual transportation experiences and
traveling.



New Business: Vaccines

Annette posed the question if people are having an issue get to and from a
vaccine location. Jordy shares that you can call your local CIL to assist
with transportation to and from vaccine locations. He also shared
information regarding the CDC website in order to share personal
experiences, report any issues, and any additional information that may be
needed.

President Payne shared the NFB website as a source of vaccine information
as well.



New Business: Calendar Events

Annette reminding members to register for the virtual national convention
in July. Also reminding everyone to mark their calendars for the in-person
state convention held in Columbus, Ohio in November.

NFB Ohio state convention will be held at the DoubleTree Worthington hotel
for $85 per night. The dates are November 5,6, and 7.

Shelly is hosting and promoting a Capitol chapter fundraiser with the
Pampered Chef corporation.

Caroline is hosting a See3D fundraiser event at the Town Hall restaurant on
Monday, April 12th in Columbus, Ohio.

Jordy wants it on record to encourage Caroline pursue a career as a O&M
instructor. He believes she has the talent and skill to excel within this
position.

President Payne suggest the chapter make a donation to See3D to show
support to Caroline and all that she has done with the NFB.

Motions:

Jordy makes a motion to donate a $100 to See3D

Maggie seconds the motion

Discussion for Motion:

Shelly is unsure of making a donation to a member that has not paid their
dues.

President Payne encouraged the Capitol chapter members to look at the work
she has done and to not reflect on a person having paid or not paid their
dues at the present moment.

Revised Motion:

Jordy amends his motion to donating $100 from the Capitol chapter and $100
from the Stringer family

Maggie seconds the motion

Revised motion was passed by everyone



New Business: Membership Dues & List

Vice President Suzanne shares the importance of membership dues being paid
before May 31st. Unpaid dues will not allow a person to vote at the
national convention in July.

President Payne provided further information on paying dues prior to May 31
st and completing the updated membership list prior to the national
convention.

Shelly will work with Annette on updating the membership list.



Old Business: Meeting Times

Changing the Capitol chapter meeting time to the second Saturday of the
month at one o’clock in the afternoon.

Shelly made a motion to change the day and time

Jordy second the motion

Meeting Change passed by everyone



News & Updates:

Suzanne wants members to start thinking about vendors we want as an
affiliate at the state convention.
