Attendees: Annette, Shelby, Maggie, Jordy, John, and Marieka.



Minutes:

**There are no meeting minutes for the month of May; the chapter meeting
was an unofficial gather. Minutes for the April 2022 still needs to be
approved. **

April’s minutes posted by Maggie on the list serve.

Discussion:

No discussion on the minutes.

Motions:

Shelby made a motion to Accept the minutes as they were circulated.

Jordy second the motion.

Minutes passed by everyone.



Treasurer Report:

Current Balance: $1,140.46

Discussion:

Treasurer reports on the challenges of finalizing everything with the
chapter’s bank account and electronic account. The chapter’s PayPal account
is working properly despite a few account details that still need to be
ironed out. Jordy shares that everything should be situated very soon. He
also states that the necessary changes that are being made now will
significantly help with the process of transitioning from treasurer to
treasurer. In addition, he will also create an onboarding document as well.
The treasurer wraps up his reporting sharing that the chapter now has a new
debit card.

Motion:

Shelby made a motion to Accept the treasury report as presented.

Marieka second the motion.

Treasury report passed by everyone.

Convention Donations:

Discussion:

The president gives a brief breakdown on each of the four national funds
and how the chapter has previously donated.

Motion:

Shelby made a motion for the chapter to donate $50 to each of the four
national funds.

No second on this particular motion.

Jordy made a new motion for the chapter to donate $25 to each of the four
national funds.

Shelby second the motion.

BELL Donations:

Discussion:

The president opens the floor to discuss how much money the chapter would
be willing to donate to the BELL program this summer which takes place
August 7 to 12.

Jordy will also follow-up with Eric Duffy for more information regarding
BELL volunteers and the application process.

Motion:

Jordy made a motion for the chapter to have an unrestricted donation of
$100 to BELL, giving the leaders an opportunity to purchase anything the
program may need.

Maggie second the motion.



Old Business: Fundraising

Maggie shared the updated news on no longer having a contact with the
vineyard for our fundraiser.

The chapter engages in an open discussion on different kinds of raffle
fundraising ideas, and potentially fundraising at the 2022 state convention
in Independence, Ohio.

John may have a contact and will research more information on having a wine
fundraiser at the upcoming state convention.



Old Business: 2022 National Convention

The president shares that registration is now closed for pre-registration.
Online registration for online attendance is still open. Annette also
shares the newly announced information on the COVID-19 protocols. She goes
even further to share that there is also convention information in the
latest issue of the Braille Monitor. Lastly, the president states there
will be an amendment to the National constitution at convention. She stated
that it is an amendment to the disciplinary actions in response in those
that do not honor the code of conduct that is currently in place.

Jordy volunteers to assist members with a take home test, if they are in
need of one.

Motion:

Shelby made a motion for the chapter to cover the registration cost for
chapter members for national convention or the reimbursement of $35.

Maggie second the motion.



Old Business: Constitution Amendments

The president shares that we will continue to table the conversation of the
chapter’s constitution and pick up this discussion in August.



Old Business: In-Person Meetings

The president stated that the chapter will continue to meet virtually until
a new meeting place has been established.



News & Announcements:

Announcement:

Annette shares the updated news on the parental rights bill being passed
through both chambers.

Maggie shares the national CSD project that will be taking place in New
Orleans, and shares the information on collecting donations.

Marieka is working on her college thesis and offers to let members read her
project to import on the blind unicorn story.

Next meeting will take place on the Ohio Zoom on August 6th at 11AM EDT.
