Good morning!

Well, it has been a very busy summer for all of us. So busy, that we have not been able to meet in quite a while. That is why I am very much looking forward to our chapter meeting this upcoming Saturday, August 12, at 11:00 AM. We will be meeting once again at the Rusty Bucket at 4109 North High St. in the back room. we have a couple of things that we really need to focus on at this meeting. First of all, we will be voting on the changes that we previously made to our chapter constitution. I sent the new revised version in a separate email. Thanks to Shelby for taking care of all of this for us. we will also have a guest speaker, Genene, Stanley, from Aira. She will be talking about some of the things that Ira is currently doing. We also need to dig in and really plan for our blindness seminar. Because of everybody’s schedules this summer, we were not able to do it for This month, but I am hopeful that we will be able to put something together in mid to late October. But, wanted to talk to all of you about this first.

As a note, normally at our chapter meetings, we conduct our meeting and then after we adjourn, we all enjoyed lunch together. This month however the restaurant can only allow us to have the room until about 1230. This is plenty of time to conduct our meeting, But not time to eat lunch afterwards. So, if you would like lunch, you can either order it at the very beginning, and eat during the meeting, or, as some of us are planning on doing, after the meeting, moving out to the main dining room And ordering and enjoying lunch there. It is completely up to you.

In the meantime, if anyone has any questions, please feel free to reach out. I am looking forward to seeing everybody on Saturday!

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Everyday we raise the expectations of blind people because we know that low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want, blindness is not what holds you back.
