Hello!
I hope all of you are having a great fall! I need to apologize for the tardiness of this email. I should have gotten it out earlier this week after convention, but just never seem to have my phone available when I thought of it. I needed to update everybody on a couple of items.
First of all, and most importantly, I need to congratulate every member of our chapter. I am very honored to tell you that our chapter one the gavel award for this year! I was so proud to tell the convention about How winning this award was a team effort. Everybody played a part, and now it is up to us to win it again next year! At our next meeting, I will bring in the beautiful plaque that we won.
Speaking of our next meeting, it will be on Saturday, December 6 at 10 o’clock. This will be our annual Christmas party! We will have a short meeting and then we will enjoy a festive time of sharing a meal together and doing a gift exchange. If you want to participate in the gift exchange, please bring a wrapped gift of Approximately $20 value. If you do not want to participate, that’s OK too. We would still love to have you join us.
I was unable to find us a place to hold a meal where we could have a separate room. So we will be holding our meeting and our Christmas dinner at the church. Clinton Heights, Lutheran Church at 15 Clinton Heights Ave. We are working on bringing some food in. Once I have the menu down, I will let everybody know. This will be a group effort where we will ask for a monetary contribution to go towards the food. I will let everybody know how much that will be once the menu is set.
In the meantime, I hope everybody has a very wonderful Thanksgiving! Looking forward to seeing everybody on the sixth and celebrating the holidays and our great victory together!
Annette.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Everyday we raise the expectations of blind people because we know that low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want, blindness is not what holds you back.
