However it was believed that the balance would be similar to the last one with the exception of money used for the OSSB pizza party.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Shelbi asked that all members have their $10 dues paid by the next meeting (March 24)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Due to technological difficulties, the Presidential release for this month was unavailable<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Eric gave a recap of the recent Washington Seminar. He stated that the NFBO had 6 representatives this year, and they were able to meet with congressional aides regarding the following continuing legislative concerns.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>HR 831-The act to ensure a fair minimum wage for the disabled. Eric pointed out the need to enlist additional Ohio sponsors for this bill, stating that Ohio currently only had one sponsor.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>HR 3505-The TEACH Act, to ensure the accessibility of higher education materials.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>S556-An act to ensure accessibility for airline travel and related Apps.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Eric encouraged members to continue to write their congressional representatives on all of these vital issues.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Many thanks and praise was given to Angela for hosting a wonderful Christmas party, where the highlight of the evening was the viewing of her appearance on Judge Judy.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Shelbi recapped the OSSB pizza party. She stated that the turnout was pretty good with chapter members and students alike, but stated that in the future more planning would need to be done for fun and engaging activities.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Eric and Shelbi described some of the current fundraising activities of the state affiliate. These include the ongoing Scrip program. Eric stated that any chapter or division who recruits 5 new users to this program, and who place at least 2 orders prior to the state convention will have that chapter/division’s registration waived this year. The NFBO is also conducting a fundraiser again with Malley’s Chocolates. Anyone wanting to place an order should do so at <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>www.malleys.com/national_federation_of_the_blind_of_ohio.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>This year, the Student Division will be sponsoring a gift card drawing to be held at the April 26 NFBO Board meeting. The proceeds of this fundraiser will be split between the Student Division and the BELL Program A motion was made (Eric/Angela) for the chapter to donate 2 $10 gift cards to this drawing. Passed unam.These cards are for Papa Johns Pizza and Bob Evans. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>A motion was made (Angela/MariLyn) for the Capital Chapter to begin selling Anthony Thomas candy bars this Spring. Passed Unam. Shelbi will distribute the information and anyone wanting to participate can place their orders and pick up the bars at the March 24 meeting.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>There was no article prepared for discussion by anyone attending this meeting. Angela agreed to read and lead the discussion on an article for March.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Some discussion took place regarding future activities for the chapter in both fundraising and public relations. No definite plans were made, but several ideas were brainstormed.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Angela raised the concern regarding the lack of accessible (Braille/Audio) materials that could be distributed regarding the NFB to interested parties. Eric stated that he would look into the problem and try to come up with a solution, possibly using computer flash drives. Shelbi was going to check into whether or not a Gmail account had been set up for the Chapter.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The April 28<sup>th</sup> meeting will be held at Panera Bread at 4519 N.
