Oh, that's an interesting concept for a 50/50 raffle. A daily drawing is not
a bad idea, but yes, the problem comes in making sure you raise enough to
make it all worth it.

At least in our state, a 50/50 raffle is considered a lottery since the
prize is cash. When we have an item being raffled off, it's just considered
a regular raffle.

Our state's Senior Division usually does an annual 50/50 raffle, but they
just draw one name. In the past, they have raised more than $2000, so a
hefty prize for the winner, grin.

My chapter tends to raffle off an item during our state convention for a
chapter fundraiser. Last year, we raffled off chances to win a $100 Visa
gift card. We sold tickets for $5.

Our affiliate is currently raffling off chances to win an OmahaSteaks
package, but we currently do not have an online option for purchasing
tickets. As preveiously mentioned, our state has pretty strict (and
arbitrary in my opinion) laws for conducting raffles, so we need to further
research doing raffles online.

In the daily drawing raffle, the amount 25 dollars was announced ahead of
time, and winners' names went back into the pot so they could win more than
once.  The risk is that you have to sell enough tickets to cover all of the
drawings and make some money for the chapter or state affiliate.  I believe
the Florida concept was to print and sell 1000 tickets They were five
dollars each. One day a week the amount may have been larger.  There was
also talk of drawing for a donated prize of something other than cash.

Usually 50/50 raffles have just one winner because the winner receives half
of the total dollar amount raised. If you raise a total of $2000, the winner
gets $1000, and so forth and so on. If you had multiple winners, the amount
is smaller for each recipient because you're dividing that total amount
among however many winners. .

Craig, I guess I wasn't very careful the first time I read this message.  I
know nothing about the Website you mentioned.  I note that you said a
fifty-fifty raffle.  Are you planning for multiple drawings and announce the
winners on Facebook or selling tickets on Facebook?  I think your members
have to sell the majority of tickets from hand to hand, but you may be able
to interest some people on Facebook.  If you are planning to do multiple
drawings, I think Facebook is a good place to announce the winners.  Jorge
Hernandez from Florida is the person who led the one in Florida last year
and announced the winners on youtube. . His email is jeh6 at bellsouth.net.

Greetings,
I am attempting to put together a "meet the blind" event for our local
chapter.  We are trying to work with a local Walmart to hold this event and
sell 50/50 raffle tickets, as well.  I would also like to sell tickets
online and use Facebook to promote the raffle.
If you have conducted online raffles, were they successful?  Please share
any tips and suggestions.
