Just curious, but why limit our fundraising to just blind people? If we reach a broader demo, we potentially raise more money. And many blind people would still be interested in autographed items. If a celebrity you admire, you may be eager to own something they have signed, whether you can see it or not.

Our office received a printed catalog from this company today. Almost all their auction items are visually oriented and probably of interest only to fans of the particular celebrities whose autographs are featured. The catalog also features testimonials from large, well-known non-profits, so they are probably a reliable company, but the success of an auction would depend on the appeal of this type of item.

I received this email a few weeks ago, and it seemed like it was fishy. I did call the number, and received a call back, but it went to voicemail, and I did not call him back. He told me to email him with our information, but as a newly elected affiliate president, I did not think we were doing any fundraising like this, or at least to my knowledge we weren’t. .
