[Cash-and-Caring] Raffling beef? Anyone ever try it?

This is a creative idea. Please be sure to comply with any laws and regulations in your state . Some states prohibit internet gambling and raffles fall within their definitions of internet gambling. Some allow it with a permit. Anyway, you get the idea. Please be sure to figure out what your state requires and comply with those requirements to stay out of trouble. You might also check out the issue of transporting meat. I don't know if there are regulations around, but suspect their may be.

Hello:

     I have an idea for a possible fundraiser for the Montana Affiliate. My idea is to raffle off either a quarter or half a beef. I want to sell tickets on the Internet so support will come from outside the NFB.
I have questions:
Has this ever been tried?
I am thinking that since half a beef is a considerable amount of meet that it would be good to receive it in small packages.
I know there are companies that ship throughout the U.S. 
Thoughts and comments would be appreciated. Thank you.
