If you are looking for some recreation opportunities, here are some pretty good ones. If we could get a team of seven together, it would be really cool to attend the trap shooting event in September.

Our Mission: To provide life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind and visually impaired.
Dear Corey,
Hope all is well with you!
Northwest Association for Blind Athletes is in the midst of another busy summer full of programming for children, youth, adults and veterans who are blind and visually impaired. With the help of our volunteers, program partners, athletes and staff we planning to deliver more than 30 program events this summer. I look forward to sharing an update on our mission-impact with each of you this fall. If you are interested in getting more involved, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions at 360.718.2826 or bhenry at nwaba.org. Thank you so much for believing in our programs and helping us change lives!

NWABA Starts Kayaking and Stand Up Paddle Boarding Program in July
Throughout the year one question keeps popping up between participants, volunteers and staff:
When does the water program begin?
After researching, training, fundraising and shopping Northwest Association for Blind Athletes has an answer:
We start the Kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboarding program in July!
NWABA is excited to be able to provide this life-changing opportunity, and expand our programs even more, to improve the quality of life for individuals who are blind and visually impaired.
As we add new programs we reflect on our past. When the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes began it served 6 youth in Vancouver, WA with the one sport, Powerlifting. We now serve four states, more than 1,000 individuals of all ages and abilities, and deliver more than 10 different sports and recreational activities.
Think of the experiences and lessons that water sports are going to give!

What a NWABA Summer looks like
Fun, Learning, & Self-Confidence
Image removed by sender. Article Image
Summer is the period of time that NWABA staff and volunteers look forward to with fervor. Programs, programs, programs! While athletic opportunities are provided year-round the Summer is the time when children, youth and adults have more free time to muster the courage to try sport, often for the first time. The NWABA takes advantage of that bravery with a multitude of programs. On average, in the month of July, we hold 3-4 programs a week. In July alone there are programs in Vancouver, Boise, Portland, Salem, Seattle, Missoula and Sandy.
Programs mean that youth who used to play sports can grow their skill and build confidence.
Programs mean that recently blinded adults can experience the joy of participating in sports and physical activity again.
Programs mean a lot of things. Mostly, programs means that our supporters, volunteers, and staff get to make the NWABA Mission – to provide life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind and visually impaired – have a real impact in individuals lives.
Thank you for your support. Consider coming to check out one of these special events as a volunteer, participant or spectator. <http://tracking.etapestry.com/t/30271420/1190654473/66795833/0/48160/> Click here for our full list of announced events.
