I hope this email finds you well.

I am reaching out to let you know that, unfortunately, due to current
events around the world, I will not be able to attend the National
Federation of the Blind Convention this summer. I sincerely apologize for
any inconvenience this may cause.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for the scholarships, support, and
encouragement you have offered me. It truly means a lot, and I feel
incredibly honored to have been considered.

As much as I was looking forward to this experience, I have to prioritize
the safety of myself and my family during these uncertain times.

If possible, I wanted to kindly ask if there is any way I might be able to
receive a refund for my ticket and banquet ticket. I completely understand
if that’s not an option—I just thought I’d check.

Thank you again for everything you’ve done for me. I hope to stay in touch
and participate in future opportunities when circumstances allow.
