<p class="MsoNormal">The Vancouver Library is conducting a community needs assessment this fall. Maggie Novario (copied on this email) reached out earlier in the fall to see if we would be interested in participating. Here’s a little info about what they
are looking to do…<o:p></o:p></p>

<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><b><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">“We are trying to learn about our residents’ aspirations for their community, the concerns they have, and what they believe might make a difference in strengthening
the community. We hope that through a series of community conversations we can better understand the needs within our communities and use it to help make our work more effective. I think the staff and students at WSSB have a unique perspective on community,
which is why I thought of you all!</span><o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><b><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">We’d love to come talk to your staff and/or students about what they want their community to be, what challenges do they face in realizing their aspirations,
and what changes are needed to overcome them. We can’t promise the conversation will lead to a new program or policy, but we pledge to share what we learned and let you know how we’ll use what we heard.”<o:p></o:p></span></b></p>

<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">In addition to our student population, it would be great for the library to hear from the adult VI community. I think this could be a good opportunity
to connect our students with adults who could help model strong conversation skills. Perhaps this is something we could tap into the NFB for.</span><span style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">What are your thoughts about sharing this information with students as a possible after-school activity in conjunction with an adults in the community that are interested—the conversation should take about 90 minutes, plus travel time to
the library. Maggie would be able to arrange a space for the library to host us.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">They would like to get something scheduled by the end of this month, but I know that may be cutting it close with all of our holidays coming up. They are willing to accommodate whatever date we can make work, but I’d love to get the ball
rolling on this if others are on board.<o:p></o:p></p>
