<p><font face="calibri,arial,sans-serif" size="3">WSDOT is finalizing its Preliminary Amtrak Cascades Service Development Plan (SDP) to create a blueprint for improving Amtrak Cascades service over the next two decades. We are seeking your feedback on this plan before it is completed and submitted to the Federal Railroad Administration.</font></p>
<p style="margin:6.0pt 0in 0in 0in"><font face="calibri,arial,sans-serif" size="3"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:'Calibri',sans-serif">This preliminary plan includes several service options for the passenger trains that serve stations from Vancouver, British Columbia to Portland, Oregon. <span>The </span>preliminary alternatives outlined in the plan include concepts that increase the number of trains, possibly running at higher speeds, with the potential for some express service with limited stops. Each option also includes an initial list of infrastructure projects necessary to operate the additional trains, such as construction of additional track, new sidings, and new or additional bridges. </span><span> </span></font></p>
