[Central-md-chapter] agenda for NFB chapter meeting on May 2

Hi All, 

Our next NFB chapter meeting on Tuesday, May 2nd  at 6:30 p.m. is fast
approaching. The Other Barn is located at 5851 Robert Oliver Pl, Columbia,
MD.

 

During our April meeting Graham Mehl gave an introduction to Braille using
tactile Braille cells. 

 

The tentative agenda for the meeting is as follows:

1.    Chapter business

2.    Presidential release

3.    Learning the NFB Pledge

4.    Learn basic common Braille signs

 

If you need transportation to the meeting, please remember to contact Sharon

at 410-715-9596 and bring a contribution to the meeting for the
transportation fund if possible.

 

NFB Pledge

 

I pledge to participate actively in the effort of the National Federation of
the Blind to achieve equality, opportunity, and security for the blind; to

support the policies and programs of the Federation; and to abide by its
constitution.

July 10-15, 2017. National Convention, Orlando, FL.

July 17-28, 2017. NFB BELL Academy in Salisbury, MD.

July 23-29, 2017. NFB Youth SLAM Towson University, MD.

July 31-August 11, 2017. NFB BELL Academies in Baltimore and Glendale, MD.

August 19, 2017.  Annual Crab Feast, Columbus Gardens, Baltimore, MD.

September 9, 2017. Board of Directors Meeting, time and place to be
announced. 

October 19-20, 2017. Braille Literacy in the 21st Century Conference,
jointly sponsored by the National Federation of the Blind and the Maryland
School for the Blind.  200 East Wells Street, Baltimore, Maryland. 

November 10-12, 2017.  Annual State Convention, Sheraton Baltimore North
Hotel in Towson, Maryland.
