Hi All, 

Our next NFB chapter meeting on Thursday, January 4th at 6:00 p.m. is fast
approaching. The at the Howard County Central Library, 10375 Little Patuxent
Parkway, Columbia, MD 21044. Yes, the day and place is different from our
usual day and place.

 

During the December meeting we had our holiday party and chapter elections.
The time was enjoyed by all. Chapter dues were collected. 

 

The tentative agenda for the meeting is as follow:

1.            watch the showing of "Do You Dream in Color?"

2.            Brief discussion after the movie until 8:30

 

Please note the movie will start at 6:30 p.m., so show up early to find a
seat. The movie is free. Invite your family, friends and neighbors.

 

"Do you dream in color" On Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 6:30pm - 8:30pm at
the Howard County Central Library, 10375 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia,
MD 21044. Since it is being shown at a Howard County library, you need to

The documentary "Do You Dream in Color?" is the coming-of-age story of four
courageous blind high school students as they strive to prove that their
disability will not hold them back from achieving their dreams.  This movie
will appeal to people of varying backgrounds.  It demonstrates adapting to,
and overcoming, challenges - something that everyone encounters throughout
life.  

 

If you need transportation to the meeting, please remember to contact Sharon

contribution to the meeting for the transportation fund if possible.

Central Maryland Chapter Hosts Screening of Do You Dream in Color
Documentary

The film depicts the problems that blind students experience in public
schools and other challenges that they face due to low expectations and
misconceptions

about blindness.

the Blind.

March 31st - Deadline for National Scholarship Applications.

April 7th - Bid for Opportunity auction and dinner to benefit NFBMD
scholarship programs (Morningside, MD).

April 15th - Deadline for NFBMD Scholarship Applications.

July 3-8th - NFB National Convention Orlando, FL.

August 4th - Annual Crab Feast Columbus Gardens, Baltimore, MD.

November 9-11 - Annual State Convention, Carousel Hotel, Ocean City, MD.
