It just depends on what you want. You have to decide what you're using the PC for and figure out what features are important to you. Screens don't matter to me nor do backlit keyboards. I wanted plenty of ram and storage with a good selection of pors and I had to have a full sized keyboard. I have no patience for the laptop keyboard configuration with Jaws. HP has more of a reputation as a business computer. Dell is probabably more budget friendly but also notorious for loading their machines with a lot of bloatware. The thing I read most about Lenovo is that they have great feeling keyboards that are a joy to type on. In my experience, this is a totally true claim. The keyboard has a great feel to it. I also like the build quality of my Lenovo. It's a nice feeling aluminium case, not plastic like all the Dells I have owned. And, there was very little extra software that was added on that I had to remove. My suggestion is figure out what you want as far as specs and read lots of reviews. My must haves included 16 gb ram and I wanted a full sized keyboard with a number pad. The keyboard requirement narrowed my choices a ton which was fine. After pouring through reviews, the Lenovo I picked gave me the best bang for the buck so I went with it. No regrets at all with my purchase. I don't really think the brand matters all that much and Windows is the same no matter what you get. It really is more about finding the right fit for what you need.
