Hello everyone, I am asking each of you to spread this news throughout your membership and please designate our affiliate as the fundraising. I think this will be a neat neat thing for us to have and you don’t always have to hang it on your tree you can hang it in the window and let the sunshine through it all year round. Good afternoon,

This year for Christmas 64 Oz. Braille would like to offer an NFB Christmas ornament. This would be on transparent acrylic and have a tactile version of the NFB logo on one side, and the National Federation of the Blind: Live the Life You Want logo on the backside with it in both print and braille.

The company plans to have an order form on their website, and on that order form people can pull down the menu to select either a state affiliate or our national organization. The chosen state or the national organization will receive a $5 donation for every ornament sold. The cost for each ornament is $20, and donations will be forwarded to affiliates or the national organization at the end of the sale.

Participation is on an opt-in basis. If your affiliate opts in, any sales credited to your state will earn a donation. This is strictly voluntary, and there is no cost to affiliates. The only thing you would want to do if you choose to participate is to let members, friends, and family know about the fundraiser. The NFB of Texas is opting in, so if your affiliate does not, we would appreciate it if you would choose our affiliate if you purchase an ornament. Of course, I am telling you about this because we don't want this to be a secret. It probably won't be a huge money maker, but it could put a few dollars in your affiliate treasury without much effort.

If you advertise it great, if you don't you might still get some money.

This is an image of the prototype. As a reminder, the logo is rendered in full color on one side of the ornament, and National Federation of the Blind: Live the life you want is written in both print and Braille on the reverse side.
