The invitation to ice cream was meant only for those clients and staff who attended the county budget meeting on May 21.


Hello everyone,

I wanted to share the good news (see Tracy's email below) and our appreciation for your help at the county budget meeting on May 21. As a token of our appreciation, we are inviting you to an ice cream outing at Two Scoops near our office on Thursday, June 25. It will be around mid-day, exact time TBD. We will provide transportation to MAB and then walk together to the ice cream shop (or Central Coffee, if you prefer). Our transportation staff will contact you to arrange transportation.

I am pleased to share that last night the Mecklenburg County Commissioners approved the FY2027 budget—and with it, a significant investment in MAB’s mission/work.

MAB has been awarded a $340,000 expense reimbursement grant in the coming fiscal year. This is an exciting step forward, and over the next several months we will work closely with County staff to finalize the contract and establish performance metrics.
This achievement reflects the strength of our collective voice and the power of collaboration across our organization and community. It would not have been possible without the dedicated advocacy of our staff, board, clients, and supporters.
