script . My name is - fill in your name). I am asking you to cosponsor H. R. 1175. This bill would eliminate the earnings cliff currently experienced by blind Americans receiving SSDI and replace it with a $2 for $1 phase out . If a SSDI recipient earns
$1 over the substantial gainful activity amount, which in 2026 will be $2,830, they lose all of their benefits which could amount to tens of thousands of dollars. This discourages blind Americans from seeking gainful employment. This bill would eliminate
the earning cliff.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
