Dear Chapter members, 

Because I will be out of town Sept. 13, I went to the Greater Miami Rowing
Center yesterday to serve as a sort of scout or guinea pig to, um, test the
waters.  

Here is what you need to know:  

You will be actually rowing in a boat, and it is very fun!  

Wear shoes that can be easily removed - slip-on water shoes, sneakers or
sandals. 

Wear comfortable clothing and don't forget the sun screen!  

It took 30 minutes to get there from my house in Pleasant Ridge area, so
cars should probably plan to leave shortly after noon.  

The official open house time is 1;00 to 4:00 p.m. 

Beth Crenshaw, whom you met at our June meeting will be there, of course,
and several of her volunteers  

It was really fun and I'd love to see it grow!

>From our August minutes, the following people plan to go: 

Chris Sabine, Joy Thomas, Marianne Denning, Kim McEachirn, Deanna Lewis,
Lisa Hall, and Bob Marquardt.

Bob Marquardt is willing to drive and Marianne said she would ask her
husband, Paul Denning, who has rowing expertise.  

Because I will be out of town most of this week, I am asking Mariane and
Deanna to coordinate the car pools, so call them at: Marianne Denning

This is really an exciting opportunity to learn something new, get some
exercise, and help raise awareness of the capabilities of blind people in
the process.  

Wish I was going to be going with you, as I really did have fun last week! 

If anyone who did not sign up initially would also like to go, please
contact Deanna or Marianne about possible openings in cars!
