[Cinci-nfb] More about the Christmas party

Thank you Walter and all,

Your emails cleared up my confusion. I was online looking for a list of most needed items to plan my contribution and ran into the issue that I emailed about. There are lots of wonderful food pantries in Cincinnati that have similar names.

Since we are giving our contributions to the Valley Interfaith food and clothing facility in Lockland, I can now make my plans. The following “manna list” is from their website in case anyone else is interested in the information.

Your dedication to our mission of “Helping our Neighbors in Need” is much appreciated. Month after month, we are amazed at how everyone pulls together to help us stop hunger in our surrounding neighborhoods. Some of the items in our Choice Pantry are difficult for us to purchase, due to either high cost or limited availability. We hope that with help from our friends, like you, we will be able to provide these items at no extra cost to us. The following items are what we need the most:

· Crackers

· Soup

· Ramen Noodles

· Canned Spinach

· Canned Tuna

· Canned Fruit (Peaches, Pears, Pineapple, Fruit Cocktail, etc.)

· Cereal

· Personal Hygiene Items (Soap, Deodorant, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Shampoo, Conditioner, etc.)

· Toilet Paper

Thank you Walter for taking care of the delivery and so much more.

Regards,

Hello all,

I have been in contact with the Free Store in Lockland and the donation from the Cincinnati chapter is already in process. We will receive a certificate or acknowledgment of the donation. I have scheduled to drop off the donation next week. If you are any one have any more questions, please feel free to contact me.

Much Love,

Walter

Rachel.

The Freestore has no drop-off location in Lockland to my knowledge. Their main distribution center is in Bond Hill at 1250 Tennessee Avenue; I believe the closest major intersection is Paddock if you need to get transportation there, but don’t hold me to this. The OTR location on Liberty also takes drop-offs, to my knowledge.

HTH.

Chris

Could someone let me know the name of the pantry where we plan to donate nonperishable food items? The free store food bank does not have a drop off location in Lockland. They have one in OTR and another in Bond Hill. I am not from the area so I am not sure if I am getting geography mixed up. Maybe my memory of the pantry being in Lockland is incorrect.

Peace and Joy.

Chapter members,

Remember, we are not having a gift exchange. Instead of giving each other gifts,we will be donating non-perishable food to a local free store food bank. You can also donate household and personal grooming products like dish soap, toothpaste, bath soap, shampoo, an facial or toilet tissue. All of these products will be appreciated.

One more thing

If anyone plays the piano, please let me know. Arnold's has a piano and the staff will move it into the party room if we have anyone who wants to play it. Some live music would be great!

Thanks so much,
