Sorry Chris, I responded on the wrong email. What I meant was, is there a
restaurant within walking distance of the movie theatre to avoid the middle
transportation step?

Night on August 8

Hi folks.

I have a question that's been nagging me about Dinner and a Movie on August
8. Since we'll be watching a movie at one location, having volunteers drive
us to a restaurant at another location, eating and going back home from the
restaurant, I think we need to look at how people are coordinating their
transportation going to the Theater and coming back home from the
restaurant. Basically, what we're planning involves traveling from Point A
to Point B to Point C and back to point A on our own.

I'm wondering if this is a lot to coordinate, especially with so many people
taking ACCESS, as we're counting on volunteers to drive us from the theater
to the restaurant, eating and arranging transportation home from the
restaurant--with that pesky 30 minute ACCESS pick up window involved.

I'm prepared to vote for having the dinner at the Oakley Pub and Grill as
they take reservations and their menu is inexpensive. However, I was doing
research on the transportation options in the area (as I like to do). If
anybody is planning on taking the regular fixed route home and we decide to
go with Oakley Pub and Grill for dinner, the closest intersection with a bus
stop looks like it could be a complex intersection involving two different
side streets crossing Madison Road. The side streets in question are
Markbreit (the street that runs perpendicular to Isabella where the
restaurant is), Madison Road and another street that crosses Madison at a
T-intersection opposite from where Isabella is. This isn't a deal breaker as
I think it's something any competent blind traveler needs to be considering
when planning transportation, but the travel options for Arthurs look a
little more straightforward than for Oakley Pub and Grill.

If Deborah or anyone else more familiar with travel in Oakley / Hyde Park
can chime in on this, that would be awesome. Dave: this also might be
something you could clue us in on when you visit both restaurants.

All the Best,

Chris.
