Hello all.

 

Here is the summary of our membership committee phone conference this
evening at 7:00 PM.

 

In attendance were: Paul & Bernie Dressell, Lisa Hall, Rachel Kuntz,
Christopher Sabine and Deborah Kendrick. The main topic of discussion was
the Clovernook Movie Night event currently scheduled for Friday October 9.
Diana Fatora, Recreation Coordinator at Clovernook, is in charge of
organizing the event. Lisa has agreed to make an announcement on RRS
concerning the event on her "USA Today" Broadcast next Thursday Night,
October 1. She will also find out who is in charge of the Clovernook
employee telephone bulletin board (513) 728-6248, so there will be a
recorded notice of the event.

 

The movie for this event is "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good,
Very Bad Day." Deborah has checked out an audio described DVD of this movie
from the Ohio Library for the Blind and Disabled. The movie lasts
approximately 81 minutes.

 

The event will start at 4:30 and begin with introductions and discussion
about NFB. Christopher will introduce Deborah, who will lead the discussion
as Chapter President.

 

The movie will begin and refreshments will be served. There will also be
time following the movie for question and answer and discussion. The event
will conclude by 7:00 PM. Diana Fatora indicated prior to the meeting that
attendance at similar events varies widely-from as few as 3 to as many as 30
attendance. 

 

Christopher will purchase popcorn and two liter bottles of pop at Kroger's
prior to the event. We also agreed to order pizza from LA Rosa's based on
attendance. Christopher will present a motion at our next chapter meeting to
allocate funds for refreshments.

 

Deborah will contact Eric for state brochures and connect with National
Office on Monday to see if any Braille literature is available to hand out. 

 

Our next meeting was scheduled for Friday October 2 at 7:00 PM by phone
conference.
