Hello Cincinnati,

I normally don’t send these types of announcements to the list, but this one has the information about replacing the retiring superintendent for the Cincinnati public schools. They are holding forums to allow those interested the chance to voice concerns that should be important in selecting a new superintendant. With the changes being imposed on us from the new Federal administration, I feel that we should be involved with the local agenda for our children. We want to make sure that the needs of children/students with disabilities are not pushed under the rug.

I am not sure if I can make the scheduled meetings, but I hope that some of you can.

Cincinnati Board of Education and its superintendent search firm is hosting a series of community forums as part of its superintendent search 

Cincinnati Public Schools has begun a search for the district’s next superintendent, and it wants to hear from the community as part of that process.

Three open meetings will be conducted, during which members of the community are encouraged to express their views on the qualities important in the successor to Superintendent Mary Ronan, who announced her retirement effective Aug. 1, 2017.

Ray and Associates, the search firm selected by the Board, will facilitate the meetings at the following times, dates, and locations:

The Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio is proud to partner with the City of Cincinnati for the Cincinnati Youth 2 Work program.  

It's a wonderful opportunity for students ages 14 - 18 to learn new job and life skills in a professional setting while getting paid. Youth will work between 20-30 hours a week from June to August.

The Urban League is assisting with recruiting 250 young men and women for the summer employment program. Mark your calendar! Applications will open March 2017.
