Dear Kelsey Fay:

The National Federation of the Blind members, our guests and I would like to
thank you for arranging such a rich and educational tour of The National
Underground Railroad Freedom Center museum. Everything went well from Anna,
at the front desk, receiving our payments to our docents, Pat and John,
organizing us into two groups for better interaction. Pat and John were so
knowledgeable and willing to share as much as they could within the two
hours about the history of the museum artifacts.

>From my perspective, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center holds
a history book not unveiled to many people. The stories left my mouth ajar
and my heart heavy almost with tears at times. However, I came away from
the Freedom Center with a better understanding of the origin of many
spirituals, counting it a blessing to have had the opportunity to learn more
about African history and its impact on my ancestors. One couldn't take it
all in within two hours; therefore, I plan to visit the National Underground
Railroad Freedom Center, again, soon.

In the meantime, Chris, The National Federation of the Blind Cincinnati
Chapter secretary/membership Chairman, plans to document the historical tour
with pictures and a summary of our experience. Thank you so much.

Sincerely,

Annie M. Carson, Recreation committee chairperson,

The National Federation of the blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
