Annie,
Please let Kim know that I am praying for courage and strength through this
trial, and that I know that God is holding him in the palm of His hand.
Best Regards,

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.

Subject: [Cinci-nfb] Prayers Being Requested On Kim's Behalf
Dear NFB Family:
Several weeks ago we learn that Kim might have prostate cancer that could
have possibly spread to his bones. We decided to wait until we were sure
before sharing this news with you. After a series of various tests, it has
been confirmed he has stage four bone cancer. Currently, he is taking
medication which will help prepare him to begin his first phase of his
treatment this Friday; he will be receiving a special shot.
We are not worried-just praying and thanking god the cancer was discovered
rather than not being discovered. Kim continues to have a positive attitude
because he knows god as a miracle worker; therefore, please remember to
encourage him when you speak of his condition. My Father is receiving the
same treatment as Kim and has been living with cancer for two years. So,
Kim has been encouraged by him. Also, Kim is continuing to work at
Clovernook and do devotions on a weekend prayer line.
When you pray, we ask that you ask god to give Kim strength to get through
this trial and that he will be drawn closer to God because of this hardship.
Finally, we ask that you pray that our family will encourage him, support
him in every way we can and that we, ourselves, will be comforted in the
meantime.
Thank you so very much.
Blessings,
Annie Carson
