Hello Deborah and Cincinnati chapter members,

It is very soothing to understand that Deborah is well and have been for some time. The Lord is good and is worthy to be praised! I don’t know about others, but I prayed many times for a speedy and successful recovery for Deborah. I am so pleased that the Lord has answered my prayers.

Deborah raised the question about our T-shirt project. I did not think that the branding of the NFB was in question , because we did not use the Name or the logo of the NFB on the shirt. To do that would have added additional cost to the product. Please read the previous message from the art director from National. She explains that they would like for us to use the brand appropriately and appreciate our inquiry, but this year, we can utilize what we already have.

I would like to encourage our members to join our monthly call. The fundraising committee teleconference is scheduled every second Tuesday of each month. It is e-mailed to the list approximately one week prior to the meeting and a reminder sent around 24 hours prior to the meeting. As a matter of fact, an e-mail will go out today to arrange for our next meeting this coming Tuesday.

I appreciate Deborah mentioning the White Kane Walk and associating my name with it, but I believe in giving honor where it is due. The Recreation committee, chaired by Annie Carson has initiated this event this year. I am just doing my part as a committee member and supporting the initiative. We have learned a few new things, since we did not conduct it last year, but Annie is doing a great job with Sheri, Kim, Judy and myself and the other committee members.

Now, our chapter is continuously moving forward, and it would be great to have more of the chapter members get involved with the objectives that we initiate. Many of us have busy lives and personal aspects to handle, but please try to consider that it takes all of us collectively to facilitate the work of the NFB Cincinnati chapter! Together we stand, divided we fall!!

Let’s go build the Federation!

Thank you,

Walter

Chairman, Cincinnati FR committee

Subject: T-shirt for Meet the Blind Month

Dear Walter,

Thank you for inquiring about the use of your t-shirt design during Meet the Blind Month. We do want all materials produced to accurately represent the National Federation of the Blind brand and Meet the Blind Month, which we have created as an organization. This includes proper use of our logo, name, tagline and imagery. While the t-shirts you have produced do not follow the branding guidelines, we understand that they are already produced and it is fine to use them this year.

We will send out a reminder and more detailed branding guidelines to affiliates for Meet the Blind Month materials so that we avoid any future confusion.

Thanks again for reaching out. We appreciate your efforts to create properly branded materials. Good luck with your Meet the Blind Month activities.

Best,

Suzanne Shaffer
