Joy,

I sent a follow-up correction on the Metro information. It's not six and
vine to fifth and vine; It's Fifth and walnut (Government Square) to fifth
and vine, one block.

Dear NFB Family,

The primary purpose of this email is to discuss transportation options to
the "Meet the blind Month" event and "white Cane Safety Day" walk on Monday,
October 2nd, 2017. If you are planning to attend the 11:00 ceremony at City
Hall, I recommend you arrive at 801 Plum Street between 10:30 and 11:00 AM.
The official White Cane Safety Day walk to fountain square (Fifth and Vine)
will follow immediately after the opening ceremony.

If your plans are to meet the walkers at Fountain square or to be picked up
there after the event, (with Access, Uber or someone else driving you) use
38 Fountain Square Plaza which is the address of fifth-third bank. A friend
and/or volunteer who drives and remains at Fountain Square to assist with
this event can park in the Fountain Square garage (fees will apply).

Finally, if you take the Metro bus to six and vine on Fountain Square, you
will only have to walk one block over to fifth and vine where we will be
located.

If you have additional transportation questions, please email or call me.

I look forward to seeing you on Monday. Thank you.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
