Hello Cincinnati Chapter,

There are some things we need to talk about for the state convention. I want to mention them now so we can start preparing. Here they are:

1. Door prizes

2. Auction item

3. Money for the movement

For door prizes, we can make it as simple as a cash prize. People always love to receive cash. Gift cards are OK, but if someone does not usually go to those particular places, them they are a waste. I actually have a couple gift cards from last year's convention that I have not used!

Now, for the auction. This will take place at the banquet. Proceeds will go to the state affiliate. We can make this as simple as having one big item, such as a piece of technology, or we would have to come up with a themed basket of some sort.

Money for the movement is actually a major fundraising event, held every year during the banquet. This is where every chapter, division, and individual has the opportunity to make a public donation in support of the affiliate. For any of you that attend national convention sessions, and Washington Seminars for that matter, you will be familiar with this practice.

.

Feel free to respond to this email to get the discussion started. We need to have a solid plan when we leave our next meeting on September 22, 2018.

Best Regards,

Sheri Albers, President

National Federation of the Blind of Ohio, Cincinnati Chapter
