[Cinci-NFB] Summary of August 30 Membership Committee Meeting

Hello all.

 

The following is a summary of the July 30 Membership Committee meeting to
plan for the Cincinnati Vision Fair. In attendance were: Cincinnati Chapter
President Sheri Albers, Lisa Hall, Diane Gudaitis, Deanna Lewis, Marianne
Denning and Christopher Sabine.

 

Sheri indicated that she will be posting the press release, which was just
completed as of today's meeting, to the Cinci-Talk listserv and requested
that all Committee members share it to their Facebook walls as an event
invite. Christopher Sabine indicated that he will post the event on the
Cincinnati Chapter Facebook page.

 

Following the meeting, Christopher shared contact information for the vendor
providing furniture rentals for the event with Tyler Hill from Urban
Artifact. Sheri has agreed to follow up directly with the vendor concerning
this.

 

Christopher agreed to follow up with Tyler to see if an additional table
could be made available for registration. During the initial visit to urban
Artifact, Christopher and Sheri determined that the tap room where the event
will be held has room for six tables-three on each side. However,
Christopher agreed to ask Tyler if a seventh could be made available for
registration. Tyler responded back in an email following the meeting on
August 28 that there is room for a seventh table as long as they are
six-foot tables.

 

Also following the meeting, Christopher has emailed out copies of the press
release to Tyler Hill for distribution to The Cincinnati Enquirer, Citybeat
and the Cincinnati Community Press Newspapers. He has also emailed another
copy to Liz Bonis from WKRC Local 12, who will record an interview
concerning the Chapter and the Cincinnati Vision Fair for her "What's
Happening in Health" show on Local 12. The event was also posted to the
Cincinnati Chapter Facebook page following the meeting.

 

Sheri Albers has agreed to follow up with Erin from CABVI and a
representative from the NLS Regional Library in Cleveland concerning the
distribution of the fliers and Tyler from Urban Artifact concerning the
tables. The committee agreed to draft a memo to all vendors explaining the
logistics for the event. The Committee also agreed to have all exhibitors
give a brief (no more than five minute) overview of who they are and their
services. Diana Gudaitis agreed to share the email of the puppy raiser she
plans to invite to the event as an exhibitor.

 

Each Committee member agreed to help the Chapter obtain four gift cards
which will be handed out as door prizes for the event. The remainder of the
meeting focused on plans for the White Cane walk on September 29.

 

The Committee agreed to hold its next meeting on Tuesday September 10 2019
at 7:00 P.M. by teleconference.
