> President Gloria Robinson gave this month’s Treasurer’s report in place of Emily Pennington, who was unable to participate fully in the meeting due to a prior commitment. Christopher Sabine moved to accept this month’s Treasurer’s Report as presented. Lisa Hall seconded. The motion passed.

> Gary Warren, speaking by telephone, gave this month’s Fundraising Committee report. He began by stating that the Chapter will begin selling candy bars from World’s Finest chocolates at $2 apiece with proceeds going to the Chapter. President Gloria Robinson will be distributing boxes of the candy bars to select members to sell on the Chapter’s behalf at today’s meeting. Each box contains 30 bars for a total of $60 per box in proceeds. Three boxes were distributed. Turtles and gummies will also be available to sell at a later date for two for $1. Gary continued that the Chapter’s Spring Ball is set to take place on May 17 at 6:00 P.M. at the West Price Hill Knights of Columbus Hall, and preparations are under way. The Hall is located at 4109 W. Eighth Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45205. More details will be available in the coming days.

> There was no specific update from the Transportation Committee other than information regarding Metro Now and other services discussed on previous meetings. See the January 2025 minutes for details on a guest presentation from Khaled Shammout, Chief Strategic Planning, and Innovation Officer at the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA), for updates on developments concerning Metro and ACCESS.

> Christopher Sabine gave an update from the Legislative Committee, which revolved around the upcoming Columbus Seminar set for April 14-15. Christopher indicated that teams are currently scheduling meetings with their members of the Ohio General Assembly and Senate. President Gloria Robinson and Dave Perry will also be attending this event.

> President Gloria Robinson gave an update from the Community Outreach Committee. She expressed that she is gathering together members interested in conducting an “Everybody Counts” presentation to a school and seeking donations to the Chapter from the community. She requested that anyone interested in taking part in this process should reach out to President Robinson or Dave Perry.

> President Gloria Robinson, in her report from the “all Around Cincinnati” Committee, asked members to reach out to her if they are experiencing any difficulties obtaining equal access to services from stores or restaurants as well as other services in the community. The committee is seeking feedback on services from restaurants, stores, and other community organizations and reporting concerns to the National Organization.

> President Gloria Robinson expressed that Rep. Greg Landsman will be the guest speaker at the May Chapter meeting. Christopher Sabine expressed that he met with Rep. Landsman during the National Organization’s Washington Seminar in February, and he has agreed to attend a Chapter meeting.

> AT the request of President Gloria Robinson, Christopher Sabine gave an update on his experience as a user of the Ray Ban Meta Glasses. He indicated that he has used them at Washington Seminar and on other occasions, and his experience has been very positive. He went on to state that the glasses are fairly inexpensive, and there is a Facebook group as well as online tutorials to help Blind users learn to use them. President Gloria Robinson indicated that prescriptions are available to obtain the Meta Glasses from a doctor. They can be used with AIRA as well, and Christopher expressed that the glasses worked with AIRA very well overall when navigating airports during Washington Seminar, though he did experience some minor complications and there is some technical coordination involved with using the Meta Glasses with AIRA.

> Dave Perry gave a Membership Committee report. He indicated that he would like to organize a call in the near future to discuss member recruitment and retention as a Chapter. Christopher Sabine, Tammy Smith, Emily Pennington, and Chris Windham expressed willingness to assist Dave with this effort and serve on a revitalized membership committee for the Chapter. In particular, recruitment in Butler and Warren Counties was discussed. President Gloria Robinson indicated that she has been discussing bringing members from Butler and Warren Counties with Affiliate President Richard Payne and stated that she is making calls to members of a chapter in Butler County that was organized by former member Rachel Kuntz that disbanded.

> President Gloria Robinson indicated that a contest in May is set to take place at the Serpentine Wall for DJ’s playing old school hip hop / R&B music, and she is signing up Gary Warren to participate. She asked all Chapter members to support Gary and help him win the contest.
