Christopher began his report with an overview of the Columbus Seminar, the Ohio Affiliate's annual meeting with the State Legislature, in which he participated along with President Gloria Robinson and Dave Perry from the Cincinnati Chapter. Christopher characterized the event as a positive experience but emphasized that the real measure of the event's success will be the number of cosponsors for the Affiliate's three legislative priorities: Ohio House Bill 225, The Employment First and Greater Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Act, Ohio's accessible prescription legislation, and the continuation of the Ohio Support Service Provider Program for members of the Deafblind community. He continued that Rep. Greg Landsman will be conducting a guest presentation to the Chapter to discuss the Federation's national legislative priorities on Saturday June 7. President Gloria Robinson added her own positive experience with Ohio Seminar. The Spring Ball, which was scheduled for Saturday May 17, may need to be rescheduled as he is unsure if the venue is available. Dave Perry added that the Ball will move forward but may need to be moved to a different date, asking any members who can to contribute door prizes. President Gloria Robinson stated that the company providing the candies has other items, including cookie dough which would be good to sell around the Holidays. Tumblers and gummy worms are also available. She will be distributing more Candy at its next meeting in June, and the Committee's contact is suggesting that it develop a web site to help the Chapter sell additional products online. The possibility of the Chapter opening up a web portal to sell Double Good Pop Corn was also discussed, as the Cleveland Chapter already has such a web site.
