</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P dir=ltr><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri>We’ve just concluded the first
planning committee meeting for the White Cane Safety Day Awareness Walk and I
wanted to give all of you the information. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P dir=ltr><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri>The good news
is</FONT></SPAN><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri> that both CABVI and
Clovernook want to participate once again. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P dir=ltr><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri>Another piece of good news is
that, although some chapter members were worried that planning had begun late
this year, it turns out that our first meeting to plan in 2013
was</FONT></SPAN><SPAN lang=en-us> <FONT face=Calibri>held</FONT></SPAN><SPAN
lang=en-us> <FONT face=Calibri>on September 13! So, we are a month ahead
of last year’s schedule! </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P dir=ltr><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri>The number one criticism, if
you will, from John Mitchell, CEO of CABVI, was that this is an NFB event
andthere were so few NFB members participating last year.
</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P dir=ltr><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri>I assured him that we would
work on changing that, and I therefore</FONT></SPAN><SPAN lang=en-us> <FONT
face=Calibri>put this challenge out to all of you. Please put October 15
on your calendar right now and please share this information with anyone who
supports the work of the Federation. Many of you have recently bought
NFB polo shirts. Many of you bought shirts specifically for the walk two
years ago.</FONT></SPAN><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri>
</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P dir=ltr><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri>I urge you to locate such
Federation garments now so you are ready to wear them proudly on the walk
downtown. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P dir=ltr><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri>Both Clovernook and CABVI are
once again willling to organize and transport blind employees to the
walk,</FONT></SPAN><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri> so those of you who
work at either agency, please talk the event up among your co-workers.
</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P dir=ltr><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri>If you haven’t done the walk
before, it’s a very short walk – about six blocks, I think, and we kept it
short so that absolutely everyone could participate. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P dir=ltr><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri>We walk with our canes, our
dogs, our</FONT></SPAN><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri> selves.
Seeing us in numbers reminds our sighted fellow cincinnatians that we are here
and that we share in the same rights and dreams as</FONT></SPAN><SPAN
lang=en-us> <FONT face=Calibri>our sighted neighbors. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P dir=ltr><SPAN lang=en-us><FONT face=Calibri>Again, put it on your calendars
