<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">Hello Sheri, Chris, and anyone who has wondered about this issue:</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">I have begun a new thread because the last one had half of the message typed into the subject line and was rather unwieldy.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">Elections are indeed to be held at our next meeting. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">If we were to have a nominating committee, that committee would be formed and appointed by the president. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">That would be me.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">As it happens, over the 20 years I have been involved</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri">in NFB's Greater Cincinnati chapter,</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> </SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">We have had a nominating committee only once. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">I appointed that committee, as the preside</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">nt appoints all committees. It was chaired by Rachel and she did a fabulous job.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">That was in 2015.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">This year, we will hold open elections as we have done most often in the past. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">The elections will be held at the</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri">December 2 meeting and new officers and board members will begin their terms in January 2018.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">Our constitution states that officers and</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri">board</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri">members</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri"> begin office after the meeting at which they are installed. However, since we have never done formal installations, we have always simply had newly elected officers begin their work at the next business meeting.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">We will be electing</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri"> the following officers:</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">President, vice president, secretary and treasurer.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">As you may recall, when I be</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">c</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">ame president in 2013, my first action was to read the constitution. From it, we learned that we should have a board of three members. Thus, we added that board in February 20</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">14 and have continued to function with four officers and three directors. Unless there is work to amend the constitution, I assume we will continue in that fashion.</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri"> All terms are for two years.</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> </SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">In early 2014, I recorded the constitution and shared it immediately with the chapter. </FONT></SPAN></P>
