In attendance were: President Gloria Robinson, Dave Perry, Candice Armstrong, Emily Pennington, Taslim Dibba, Gary Warren, Lisa Hall, Dianne Gudaitis, Haley Thurston and Tammy McRae. <o:p></o:p></li></ol><p class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle><o:p> </o:p></p><ol style='margin-top:0in' start=2 type=1><li class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle style='margin-left:0in;mso-add-space:auto;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'> Dave Perry moved to approve the January 2021 Chapter minutes as emailed. Emily Pennington seconded, and the motion passed.<o:p></o:p></li></ol><p class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle><o:p> </o:p></p><ol style='margin-top:0in' start=3 type=1><li class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle style='margin-left:0in;mso-add-space:auto;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Emily Pennington presented this month’s Treasurer’s Report. Gary Warren moved to accept this month’s Treasurer’s Report as presented. Dave Perry seconded, and the motion passed.<o:p></o:p></li></ol><p class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle><o:p> </o:p></p><ol style='margin-top:0in' start=4 type=1><li class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle style='margin-left:0in;mso-add-space:auto;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>There was no legislative report at this month’s meeting, as Marianne Denning, Chair of the Legislative Committee, could not attend. Gloria reported that at this point, the National Federation of the Blind of Ohio Annual Convention will be held in-person from November 5-7 at the Worthington Doubletree Hotel in Columbus, Ohio. Room rates are currently set at $85 per night for members of the Ohio Affiliate, but no further information regarding the Ohio State Convention is available at this time. President Gloria Robinson also indicated that the Columbus Seminar, the Ohio affiliate’s legislative event, is set for an unspecified date in April. No further information was provided at this time.<o:p></o:p></li></ol><p class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle><o:p> </o:p></p><ol style='margin-top:0in' start=5 type=1><li class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle style='margin-left:0in;mso-add-space:auto;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Gary Warren gave a report from the Fundraising Committee. He began by expressing his thanks to all members who participated in the Chapter’s most recent raffle and fundraising campaign, which netted over $800 for the Chapter. Gary expressed that he will be commencing the next campaign by mid-March 2021, and he and Dave Perry will schedule a committee meeting at that time. President Gloria Robinson asked any Chapter members with ideas for a fundraising campaign to reach out to Gary Warren or Dave Perry.<o:p></o:p></li></ol><p class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle><o:p> </o:p></p><ol style='margin-top:0in' start=6 type=1><li class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle style='margin-left:0in;mso-add-space:auto;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>President Gloria Robinson reported that Robert Harris, current Chapter member and longtime Cincinnati area disability rights advocate, has been promoted to Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA). <o:p></o:p></li></ol><p class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle><o:p> </o:p></p><ol style='margin-top:0in' start=7 type=1><li class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle style='margin-left:0in;mso-add-space:auto;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Candice Armstrong gave a report of the activities of the Ohio Affiliate’s Community Service Division. She reported that the division is still holding its weekly Happy Hour event every Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. in the Ohio Affiliate Zoom Room, the link to which is posted on the Ohio-Talk Listserv. The theme of the last Happy Hour was Black History Month and African American musical artists. Candice also hosts an event for women called The She Shed on the fourth Friday of each month—also on the Ohio Affiliate Zoom Platform. The topic for the last meeting was skin care, and the topic for the March meeting is fashion. Finally, the Community Service Division is still seeking recipes for the Ohio NFB Affiliate Cookbook, which members can email to the Division directly at <a href="mailto:ohionfb.cs@gmail.com">ohionfb.cs@gmail.com</a>. <o:p></o:p></li></ol><p class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle><o:p> </o:p></p><ol style='margin-top:0in' start=8 type=1><li class=MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle style='margin-left:0in;mso-add-space:auto;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>President Gloria Robinson announced that she will hold a special birthday celebration for friends and members of the National Federation of the Blind on Saturday July 10 from 6:00 to 10:00 P.M. at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 4109 W. Eighth Street in Price Hill. Gloria expressed that she will have rooms reserved at the Quality Inn Queensgate for those who are unable or unwilling to return home after the event.
