Hi all,

Please find below the minutes from the last meeting.

9-21-14

The meeting was called to order at 5:19 PM. People present for this meeting were Melissa, Marty, Shon, Becky, Jenny and Bionca. First, Daniel has resigned from the board, and we need to appoint someone to serve out the remainder of his term. Shon suggested Brian. Becky suggested Penn. After some discussion, we will ask Brian if he would accept the position. If Brian is unwilling or unable to accept the position, then we will appoint Penn. Daniel has submitted all of the available information he had gathered on the Service Dog 911 to the email lists and we will go ahead with the writing of a resolution. Shon then told us that the state board was going to look at kerioke on Friday night and said that Michelle Chacon had asked him if we would like to help out with this that night. We briefly discussed still having our event with kerioke on Saturday night after banquet. After more discussion, we decided that we could go either way even if it means that we are helping out Friday night. We also decided that we would try to work with Cody and Michelle to see if we could possibly work together with the state. Bionca also brought up the idea of having a tallent show and we have decided to adopt this as our backup plan. Melissa will talk to Michelle to see what can be 1conompished on this front. We then moved to our seminar. Melissa stated that we have a rep from GDB and Shon said that we also have reps from Guishing Eyes and The Seeing Eye. Melissa will be serving zthe rep from GDF. All of these reps will be serving on our guide dog school pannel. Marty asked about the Guide Dog Consupers Bill of Rights and seeing if we can get more copies printed and brailled out so that we can also discuss this at the seminar. Shon will look to see how many copies of things we have left from our May seminar, and will arrange to get more literature if necessary. Shon will also check to see who will be taking things over from the center and will leave a message to see if we would be able to get the literatuffe we have transported to the hotel. Regarding resolutions, we decided to do one on the Service dog 911 and also on transsortation by companies such as Uber and cab companies. The resolutions committe consisting of Shon, Marty and Melissa will meet next Saturday, 9-27-14 at 6:30 PM. Shon is working on seeing if Tina Thomas is still able to come from the NAGDU board. Melissa will send Marty a donations letter template and Marty will write up the letter and circulate it to people so that we can start collecting door prizes. Regarding the seminar topics, we have decided to reccstitute some of the pannels we had at our May seminar. These would consist of the vet pannel, and we would like to ask Ellie if she would come back. Shon will ask Steve if he would be willing to talk once more about the topic of guide dog vs. cane, and we will try to see about getffing a puspy raiser to come and talk about what it is like to raise a puppy. We would also like to have a pannel on how to introduce a guide dog into a family. Regarding the exhibit table, COAGDU will staff the table in conjunction with the NFB of Greeley and CABS. Shon will go through the Yankee Candle info and will see about getting some samples to have at the table. We will pledge con25 to the state and will have the check in hand. Shon has now been appointed to the constitutional amendment committe with Melissa and Marty. Our next meeting was scheduled for Sunday September 28 at 4:00 PM. The meeting was then adjourned at 6:50 PM.

Respectfully Submitted,

Marty Rahn, Secretary,
