Melissa,

I think the best way to get other cab companies and businesses to display our decals is to simply approach them with some good reasons why it would be good for them to do so. These would include raising awareness of service animal issues, affirming their commitment to full inclusion, and developing sound service animal policies. We would like to do more than just get them to display our decals; we also want to open the door to learning more about service animal users’ rights & responsibilities.

I have attached a jpg of the decal. It is a picture, so it is not an accessible document. It is meant to send to those interested or whom we are approaching to let them see what it looks like. The doc is an actual size of the piece. If you have any questions or input, please do not hesitate to write back!

Fraternally yours,

Marion

Subject: [COAGDU] Yellow Cab Partners with National Association of Guide Dog Users to Raise Awareness

Dear All,

I am very excited to share with you that Yellow Cab of Tampa, one of Florida’s largest taxicab companies, has partnered with the National Association of Guide Dog Users to raise awareness of the rights and responsibilities of disabled individuals who use service animals. Yellow Cab of Tampa has begun installing NAGDU’s “Service Animals Welcome” decals on all of their fleet of 180 vehicles. These 4 X 5 decals feature the logo of the National Federation of the Blind along with the website of the National Association of Guide Dog Users and the toll-free number to the NAGDU Information & Advocacy Hotline

NAGDU’s “Service Animals Welcome” decals are provided to companies free of charge; however, because they are not reading material and are generally not sent to an organization qualifying for free matter for the blind priveleges, there is a small postage fee collected upon ordering. If you know of a company wishing to display these decals, prior order authorization is required. To receive your authorization, please send an email message with the number of decals desired and the shipping address to

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to write, as well. We look forward to partnering with more companies to raise awareness and expectations of the blind!
