[COAGDU] new dog

Hi all,

Last Friday, I completed home training with a new dog from Guiding Eyes. I've been on the waiting list for a dog from their specialized training program for nearly two years, and my last GDB dog retired a year and a half ago. My new dog is actually a reissue, so she is five and a half, but she couldn't be a better match. I feel like I haven't had a dog this good in both work and home behavior since a golden I had in the 90s. My dog is a female yellow lab named Shani. She had a different name, but they let me change hers since she is a reissue and I'm online and involved in a lot of things. Melissa Smith did the training, and though we had to skip a couple days due to weather, I felt confident with Shani when we finished training last Friday. And since Melissa is so near, down in the Denver area and me up in Longmont, if we need more work on something we can arrange that easily.
