[Colorado-talk] Sendero/Seeing Eye GPS App

Arielle, I just got this app yesterday and have been playing with it. It
appears that you can plan driving routes via the fastest way and the
shortest way in terms of distance. It does recalculate if you go off
course. At least with walking, I can plan routes between POI's and assume
that this would work while driving as well. Last night, I selected the
route from my home to a near by pizza place which was listed in my POI's.
It was very easy to reverse the course when coming home. As far as getting
out of maps, I haven't played with that part of it yet. Over all, I have
been pretty impressed with this app and it seems to be more accessible than
other gps apps I have used. Like any good lawyer, I must give you this
caveat. I have not fully tested this app yet by putting it through a
variety of different scenarios. I hope this limited amount of feedback is
helpful.

Best,
Scott

Hi Chip and all,

When you say you can't look around while driving, can you still use Seeing
Eye to generate a driving route between two addresses or POI's, and will it
tell you if your driver has strayed off route?
Also, with the inaccessible maps, is it easy to avoid that part of the app
or have you had problems with getting stuck in the map and unable to
navigate out of the map and back to the accessible part of the GPS?
(This has happened to me with Apple Maps and is quite frustrating).

I have Ariadne too, and am thinking the Seeing Eye might be a good
complement to Ariadne even in its current incomplete form, unless it causes
the problem I mention of getting stuck in the maps.

Best,
Arielle
