Hi Terry,

My name is Eric Woods and I'm a blind guy and member of the
National Federation of the Blind Board of Directors. THE NFB is
very active around the Metro area. Maybe you'd like to start by
coming to a local chapter meeting of the NFB. The Denver Chapter
meets on the 3rd Saturday of every month down at the Colorado
Center for the Blind in Littleton. Of course, that means the
March meeting is later today but if you can make it the address
is

2233 W. Shepperd Ave.

If you need to discuss transportation to the meetings you will
want to contact Brent Batron. He is the president of the Denver
Chapter. He also works at the Colorado Center for the Blind.

CCB phone: (303) 778-1130
Brent Batron email: bbatron at cocenter.org

Hope that helps and I hope we get to meet you soon at an NFB
event.

Eric Woods

Subject: [Colorado-talk] Introduction, and few questions

Hello there everyone,

My name is Terri, and I just recently joined this list. I'm new
to Colorado, and I do have a few questions.

First of all, I am 36. I don't have any children, or pets.
Though I love them both. I am totally blind, and have been since
birth.
I moved to Colorado about a month ago. I live in Canon City.

I was wondering, can anyone tell me much about this area? Also,
are there any opportunities for the blind, in this area?
I've been trying to research this, but am not having much luck.

Are there any meetings to intend in the area as well?

Anything anyone can tell me, would be very much appreciated. I'd
love to meet some people in the area, or just in Colorado itself.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to
hearing from you.

Terri
