[Colorado-talk] a question for folks not attending National Convention

There are a lot of us who won't be going to convention this year who would like to, and we are located all over the state. What I would recommend to you is that you check with members of your chapter to see if several of them would like to meet together to hear the banquet. It might be better if you do this in a private home, a church, or another location where you can turn up your speakers without disturbing anyone else. I will be in pueblo that day myself and probably will have to listen to the Monitor to get the gist of the banquet.
Your email brings to my mind something that has been eating at me for several years, the fact that there is so much positive going on at a National convention and that the prices and funding available is dwindling making it more necessary for those of us with an interest to develop creative ways to keep ourselves informed and involved, particularly if we happen to live on some sort of fixed income, as do most of our members. Barring something dramatic like an act of God. this situation will continue to worsen unless we in the rank and file develop more independent fundraising.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in gathering somewhere to listen to it together? I know our apartment complex has party rooms that can be reserved, although I'd have to check on what kind of internet connection would be available. Or another idea/suggestion would be a restaurant where internet is available. Some places have a separate room for groups, so that could also be a possible. I hope some are interested, as I thought it would be more fun than just listening to it with just my husband.
