Hello folks, this seems like an interesting opportunity. Perhaps Charter is attempting to catch up with Comcast.

Best,

Scott

Subject: Research Recruitment

Charter Communications is looking for people with visual impairments to help test their new television navigation system. This system speaks to the user to guide them through choosing TV channels, movies, or other things they want to watch.

The test will take about one hour for each participant, and would involve using the Charter TV remote control to go through the program guide to find shows, record them, retrieve them, set parental controls, etc. After a participant finishes the test they would be asked about their experience with the system, what they found helpful, what they found confusing, and if they had any other comments or observations they wanted to share about the system. Though the exact number has yet to be determined, each participant would receive around $100 for their time. Participants would need to come to Charter’s product development lab in Centennial. They are hoping to start testing in four to five weeks and are looking for 5 people who are blind, but also 5 people who may have some light perception, who are interested in using a talking TV navigation system to help them find shows.

Any individuals interested in participating should contact Greg McGrew at 303-556-6335 or <mailto:greg.mcgrew at ucdenver.edu> greg.mcgrew at ucdenver.edu
