The Regional Transportation District (RTD) has an elected Board of Fifteen Directors. The 2016 General Election cycle will see five Districts with seats open for election. RTD Districts A, E, I and M have seats up for election; District H is uncontested. The Candidates for Districts A, E, I, and M are at this link <https://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/elections/vote/generalLotDrawingResults.html> (https://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/elections/vote/generalLotDrawingResults.html).

The next step is knowing the District in which you reside. There are several sources to obtain this information. One of the best is from the Colorado Secretary of State using this link <https://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/elections/vote/VoterHome.html?menuheaders=5> (https://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/elections/vote/VoterHome.html?menuheaders=5). You may also ascertain if your voter registration is active, and learn what other political districts in which you reside.

The obvious is election season is upon us. We blind people must not only get out and vote, we must also meet our candidates and know the issues. I encourage everyone to contact the political organization you support such as Democrat, Republican, Green, Libertarian, or whatever, and let them know our issues as blind people. VOTE!!!! Too many died for our right to vote.

According to the Colorado Secretary of State, 31 October 2016 is the "Last day for an individual to submit a voter registration application and still receive a ballot in the mail.”
