[Colorado-talk] Reminder – NFB CO Day at the Capitol is Thursday!

Greetings,

Just another reminder that our Day at the Capitol will be this
Thursday.  We will meet as we have for years in the Old Supreme Court
Chambers, which is Room 220 of the Capitol.  However, this will be an
afternoon event, starting at 12:30 p.m.  The room is reserved until
noon, so please be respectful if you arrive before 12:00 that the room
may be in use.


After a short meeting, we will fan out across the Capitol in groups to
deliver our message and our packets.  Newsline funding is in the Long
Bill, and that bill has moved to the House, having passed the Senate.
Our message – keep funding Newsline!

We are also talking to Legislators about the big Transportation
funding bill, HB 1242.  The bill calls for an election to vote on
razing state sales tax by just over half a cent.  Part of this funding
focuses on transit and multi-modal transportation.  Multi-modal means
things like Bustang or even commuter rail that reaches beyond the
immediate Mero area.  These are things that could definitely benefit
blind Coloradans if the bill passes.
