 Joseph Wayne Stultz
Nov. 8, 1923-July 26, 2017
Age: 93
Residence: Greeley
Joseph Wayne Stultz, 93 of Greeley, passed away on July 26, 2017. He was born Nov. 8, 1923, to Alvin and Eva Stultz in Carlisle, Ind.
Joe attended the University of Cincinnati School of Pharmacy, and halfway through his schooling he was drafted into World War II. He served as an Army medic in Europe from 1944 to 1946. He finished his pharmacy degree and worked as a pharmacist and pharmaceutical salesman. He moved his family to Denver in 1967, where he resided and eventually retired. Joe and Carol moved to Greeley in 1999 to be closer to their grandkids. After Carol passed, Joe became active with the Federation for the Blind Greeley Chapter, and in 2006 he received guide dog training through the Guide Dog Association for the Blind. He shared his life with his service animal, Lomax, until January 2015. Joe had many interests and hobbies, but he especially enjoyed playing his guitar, dining out with his family and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. Philosophy and spirituality were topics he enjoyed discussing, and he encouraged others to never underestimate the power of prayer and meditation.
Joe is survived by his son, Jim Stultz (Sharon); daughter, Connie Stultz (Maury); grandchildren, Lindi Hemeon (Kris), Heidi Stultz, Lori Stultz, Brandon Busch, Garrett Stultz; great-grandchildren, Tyler Michal, Jaxon Hemeon; and nieces Kathy, Melinda and Carol.À
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jane Stultz; parents, Alvin and Eva Stultz; and Guide Dog Lomax.
At Joe's request there was no funeral or memorial service.
