Hello all,

Just a reminder that our DeafBlind Citizens Council (DBCC) meeting is happening Thursday August 11 from 4-5:30PM Mountain Time. The meeting will occur via Zoom - meeting registration link and information available at the end of this email. As per member request - the Zoom link has been converted to a registration link so it can be shared publicly. Folks will be required to register to get a Zoom link. ANYONE and EVERYONE is welcome!

Our agenda is:

1.      Introductions

2.      Communication Protocol

3.      Protactile Interpreter Discussion

4.      DBCC/CCDHHDB Announcements

5.      DeafBlind Outreach Updates

6.      HKNC Updates

7.      NFB-Colorado Updates

8.      Public Comments/Concerns/Suggestions

Trish Leakey, Auxiliary Services Manager, will join us for the Protactile Interpreter discussion. DBCC and community members are encouraged to provide feedback regarding how to  incorporate the growing Protactile interpreter community in Colorado in light of state interpreter certification requirements.Training and a Protactile Interpreter certification is available from out of state but does not require RID or BEI certification at this time as we understand. 

As always, sign language interpreters and CART will be available. Contact katie.cue at state.co.us <mailto:katie.cue at state.co.us>  ASAP if you need additional accommodations. If you cannot make this meeting, our next meeting is October 13th, 4-5:30PM MST.
