The intersection at Blake and 16th streets will reopen late next week. Future closures may be required as work progresses.
Pre-construction Utility Work between Arapahoe and Champa Streets

Impacts:

  *   Pre-construction utility work will take place starting in early June in the center transitway and will extend to the northern side of the 16th Street Mall, requiring closure of the sidewalk to access the underground utility.
     *   This work will be sequenced to maintain access to Independence Plaza at all times. Approximately half of the north sidewalk will be closed at a time as the work progresses and 16th Street Mall users will be directed to the south sidewalk or to business access.
     *   In the areas where the north sidewalk is open, this walkway will be narrow to allow crews to safely complete the work and get equipment in and out. Please follow posted signage to direct you.
  *   Intermittent lane and crosswalk closures to Arapahoe and Curtis streets (including bike lanes) as this work will extend across the intersections.

Work hours:

  *   Work will take place Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

MallRide Detour Update

As a reminder, the RTD Free MallRide shuttle continues to run during the 16th Street Mall Project, rerouted to 15th and 17th streets as needed, and from Wazee to Champa streets through approximately late August.

To meet 16th Street Mall visitors where they are, project team members will staff a mobile kiosk on the Mall to provide project information and answer questions from the public.
