Hello all!

There is an app called GoCC4All. It was shared in context of the hurricane prep happening in Florida with Hurricane Ian. However, since this app has updates from FEMA and we do have wildfires, blizzards, and adverse weather events and other emergencies here in Colorado - this may be a worthwhile app to download and have ready to use. You do have to register. It supports Braille users.

Katie

Hi,

There is a good resource in the email below, an app to assist Blind, including Braille users, for weather and other updates from FEMA. Read more below. There is a video that shows how it works with CC.

App: GoCC4All

Most of the DeafBlind people in Florida have the GoCC4All app on their phone. It provides weather updates from FEMA as they are announced. It works with refreshable braille devises too.

Vicky, do you want to put out an email letting people know to download the app on their phones?

[External Email]

Good Morning FAVI and FDBA,

As all of you are likely aware, Florida is bracing for the impact of Hurricane Ian by mid-week.

In this light, how have we reached out to our DB consumers and community to encourage them to prepare? Email alerts? Text message alerts from set up on their phones or you have email alerts available for our DB consumers in the state from sites like www.floridadisaster.org?

Please share anything you may know.

Thanks!
