Dear NFB Family,

I want to let you know that my brother Jon passed away peacefully on the evening of March 5. He was surrounded by his family all weekend, especially his wife and "best buddy" Michelle Chacon.

Jon was a leader in the NFB for over forty years. Jon served as door-prize chair for our state convention for over ten years. He loved giving away prizes! Jon organized many of the fundraising events with Spero winery for the North Metro chapter.

Many members received calls from Jon over the past forty years encouraging them to come to an NFB meeting. Jon worked with Michelle to form an NFB chapter when they moved to Las Cruces for a couple of years. Jon supported the Colorado Center for the Blind and enjoyed hearing about our successes and being a part of them. Jon realized that if it were not for the NFB he would never have obtained his job as a stockbroker, or then move on to work for the state of Colorado for many years with the Department of Regulatory Agencies.

Jon enjoyed skiing, running, and lifting weights. He always had a pet dog around the house that he could spoil. He had a heart of passion, generosity and love for his wife Michelle, their daughters, ten grandchildren, and all of us.

Thank you for all of your love and support over the last two months during Jon's illness.

All my love,
Julie
