[Colorado-Talk] HB24-1115 Prescription Drug Label Accessibility: Reminder, Second Stakeholder Meeting

Hello everyone:

 

The first stakeholder meeting on HB24-1155, the accessible prescription
labels bill, went quite well last Friday. Thank you to those of you who took
the time to attend this meeting to share your views on this important
subject.

 

During this first stakeholder meeting, a number of issues were discussed and
questions raised.

 

1.         Are  blind or print-disabled caretakers included in HB24-1155?
(and, although this was not discussed at the stakeholder meeting today, what
about prescription medications for the guide dogs used by the blind?)

 

2.         Should "independent pharmacies" (e.g., pharmacies owned by
individual pharmacists) be included in or excluded from this bill?

 

3.         If the term "independent pharmacy" is used in the bill, its
definition as stated in the bill should match the definition already encoded
in Colorado Statute.

 

4.         If a specific pharmacy is exempt from the provisions of
HB24-1155, should that pharmacy be required to reapply for the exemption on
a regular basis?

 

I am told that some stakeholders were not able to attend last Friday's
meeting. Consequently, for those people who could not attend that
stakeholder meeting, Representative Young will be holding a second
stakeholder meeting via Zoom on Monday, February 5, to be held from 12:45
