Temporary Fence Layout Between Larimer and Lawrence

Phase 2 of construction began this week between Larimer and Lawrence streets, and with the upcoming warmer weather, there is an opportunity to expedite tree planting within the block! This requires a temporary adjustment to the fencing layout that was previously communicated.

The pedestrian walkway on the west side of the block is on the south sidewalk, and about halfway down the block the walkway turns onto the center transitway and continues on to exit on the east side. Five-foot walkways provide access from the main pedestrian walkway to businesses on the north side of 16th Street. See image above.

Be sure to watch for project signage to help find your way to the businesses between Larimer and Lawrence! Three of the four crosswalks will be open at all times in the Larimer and Lawrence intersections — follow signage and plastic water barriers to a safe crossing location.

This fence layout began today (Wednesday Feb. 21) and is expected to last 1-2 weeks depending on weather. After this, the fence will transition to the original Phase 2 configuration<https://cig-pr.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fc34ba15e6547b8d998f63f6a&id=82de3b5f95&e=0e4069ae0b> for the remainder of Phase 2.

Workdays and hours are anticipated to be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Weekend work will occur between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. A noise variance was approved in January 2024 which allows work to take place throughout the night under specific circumstances<https://cig-pr.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fc34ba15e6547b8d998f63f6a&id=db25776d0f&e=0e4069ae0b>. Affected parties will be notified 7 days in advance if night work will be taking place.

Heavy equipment may operate between hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., any day of the week. Material deliveries and staging may occur overnight. All project activities and schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.

Due to schedule and sequencing, not all active blocks will have activities occurring at all times.
